Development Process

Industry Research

Secondary and primary research within the securities industry provided the foundation for Peel. Using my industry insights I plotted various offerings and began to visualize them using the Five Force Analysis, Service Innovation Matrix, Positioning Maps, and various experience mapping tools, such as the Enhanced Blueprint pictured below. Visualizing the data assisted with identifying and understanding current user pain and fail points. This ultimately leading to superior insights and focused my attention on securing investments.

Strategic Positioning

Strategy Canvas

The strategy canvas was used to plot and visualize the current investment industry. Along the bottom there are both important investment and experience traits. What we see is lackluster performance in relation to experience needs and communications. Peel fills these gaps with its transparent and informative strategy.

Segmentation Grid

The segmentation grid was developed in tandem with the strategy canvas. These two processes focused on positioning Peel and developing a new segment of the industry, a blue ocean, away from the competition.

Persona Development

Personas and User Needs

Two main personas were developed to better understand specific user needs and further focus Peel's offerings. These personas consist of an amateur and seasoned investor which offer a thorough cross section of who the entrepreneurs and investors are.

These personas went farther than understanding who's the target. Motivators, end goals, experience goals, and life goals were developed to gain a broader short to long term view of the client increasing retention rates.

Value Proposition (Entrepreneurs)

I am for amateur entrepreneurs, that want to learn about business and find investors. Peel is a platform, that delivers crowd sourced education and investment.
Unlike venture capitalists, Peel empowers entrepreneurs because we act as an even field broker, granting access to an ever growing pool of crowd sourced knowledge.

Value Proposition (Investors)

I am for investors, that want to advance their knowledge of investment and find investment opportunities. Peel is a platform, that delivers crowd sourced education and investment opportunities.
Unlike security brokers, Peel provides easily identifiable and eclectic investment opportunities because we give entrepreneurs simple documents to fill out which creates transparency and increases ease of choice.

Service Development

Service Package

The service package solidified Peel's service offerings.  The core product grounds the service while the facilitating and enhancing services articulate the mainstays of the services offerings. The facilitating and enhancing services may change over time to better suit altering user needs and delivery systems will adapt and become more accessible over time.

BMC

While the service package solidifies the service offerings the business model canvas develops connection and and interactions within the service itself. These connections and interaction assure all front and back end processes are operating properly. The canvas itself is broken up into two sections, customers to offerings/benefits and key partners to resources/processes. These two sections rest on costs and revenues, the base of the service.

Blueprint

The final piece of Peel's development is the finalization of the blueprint. The blueprint is developed during the research phase and goes through many iterations as it gets to the implementation phase. Throughout its development it assists with understanding front and back end processes of the system and identifying points of conflict such as pain and fail points.

Positioning and Competition

The positioning map visualizes Peel's place in the market. If properly developed the service will either have no competition or be superior to the competition within the market. In this case Peel has successfully developed and uncovered an unknown market.
